SEP 2026
Over the past few months, the Building Team has continued working through the next stage of planning for our future facilities.
A key focus has been refining the project around the direction given by the Elders: a first stage that provides space for around 600 people, while allowing for future growth as the church grows. We are also working within a clear financial framework and considering how the overall project could be staged so that we make the best use of the land and facilities God has already provided, and the resources available.
At present, the team is continuing to work through the key requirements, priorities and constraints that will shape the next phase of the project. This includes considering how the site can best support the long-term ministry needs of The Village Church.
The Martin Lane road stopping is now before the Environment Court. All parties have agreed to mediation to work through the specifics of the parties’ respective positions and try to achieve resolution by mutual agreement.
There is still plenty of work ahead, but we are encouraged that the project now has a clearer framework and that the Building Team is continuing to make steady progress.
Please continue to pray for wisdom, unity and God’s leading for the Elders, Building Team and others involved. Above all, our desire is not simply to construct a building, but to provide a place that helps The Village Church gather to worship Jesus, carry out the ministries God has entrusted to us, and serve our community for generations to come.
Further updates will continue to be shared here as the project progresses.
